Hello. From what I understand social workers can become licensed counselors. I was wondering if people that have masters in mental health counseling can cross over and find opportunities in social work as well or do employers look for people with masters in social work specifically?

My depression is getting the best of me, & it’s interfering with my daily functioning, & I can’t perform properly in school. Last time I did this, they made me pay my financial aid back IMMEDIATELY. Good thing I had the money because they would’ve had to sue me. They wanted me to pay it back within 10 days. Also, I wasn’t allowed to enter school the next semester without the financial aid being paid back. My mental health is deteriorating, & I don’t know if I should take the F’s for excessive absences or resign & have to pay everything back immediately. Now, I don’t have the money to pay anything back. I might have to go to the mental hospital until I get mentally stabilized. I’m torn between 2 hard decisions. & since I already have my Bachelor’s, all I can get in aid is loans. I’m just taking extra classes to try to help boost my GPA so I can try to get into Grad School, but it’s not working.
